"Inspired by Colour"
Irish artist, Eoin O'Connor (38) is a former architect living
and working in Aughrim county Wicklow. His highly sought after
pieces are held among collections of leading celebrities both
at home and abroad.
Eoin draws much of his inspiration for his work from characters
and places in and around county Wicklow.
Bold and quirky colours serve to amplify the lasting impression
such scenery leaves on the viewer, exaggerated angles of view,
inquisitive subject matter featuing local livestock all capture
the imagination and invariably stop admirers in their tracks!
Already Eoin has attracted considerable media attention
following a recent publishing deal to supply over 5,000 galleries
worldwide.
Much of Eoin's work is now produced from his own Gallery
located in the picturesque town of Aughrim.
''I used to work from home, but it meant I could never leave
my work. I prefer to have a dedicated space for potential
buyers to view my art," he said.
Senator John Dardis, who officiated at the opening of the Gallery
recently commented; "I
think opening
any Gallery in the current economic climate involves a lot of
risk, but judging by the work on display here today I believe
Eoin O'Connor will have every success."
Eoin O'Connor also sells framed limited edition prints
and with the recent launch of a dedicated e-commerce section
his work is now much more accessible to collectors of fine art.
Upcoming exhibitions of O'Connor's work include The Luxury Collection
at the K-Club (October 10-12), Wexford Opera Festival at Green
Acres Gallery (October 16-November 2) and Art Ireland at the
RDS, Dublin (November 14-16).
